Company from Kuala Lumpur... visting us in WA

Our friend Kendra is visiting us during Christmas Break from her teaching assignment in Kuala Lumpur. She'll fly to Melbourne with us on Dec. 29th. for our next adventure to a different part of Australia. Right now, we are staying in a small beach town about 300km from Joondalup, near the Margaret River wine area. We're going on a Bushtracker Wine tour today and will spend another night here in Busselton, WA. We rented a car and drove down. We head back north on Christmas eve day. The pictures are from our stop in Freo (Fremantle) where we had lunch at our favorite seafood restaurant and enjoyed a few hours experiencing the quaintness of this nice port city.

Seeing the sights in Frenmantle, Western Australia

We took the train from the Joondalup Train station, about a 20 min. walk from our condo to Perth, changed trains and went on to Fremantle , Freo as it's called by the locals. We spent the day exploring this charming clean city. Situated on the mouth of the Swan River, Freo is a multi-cultural and vibrant port city. It has beautiful preserved 19th century streetscapes and great fish restaurants.
