Golf In... Australia

While staying in Manly Beach, Bob had the opportunity to attend the Australian Open during the first two days of it. He followed John Daly, Adam Scott (the winner) and James Nitties. It was a lot of fun for him. He called it, "Up Close and Personal Golf" because you could nearly be right next to them; so unlike the tour in the U.S. with all the ropes, security, etc.

Here at Joondalup Golf Resort north of Perth, where we are staying in a condo, he has been playing only on the days that end in "y"! They have a great special starting at 3:00 p.m. He can play 9 holes (they have 27 holes) walking for $35.00. Walking 9 holes with the hilly terrain gives him plenty of exercise since he carries his clubs. It is all uphill! It is also quite beautiful. The kangaroos come out to watch as well as eat the long grass in the rough. He has played with quite a few blokes who are members and they are just like guys back home: a lot of wagering, jokes and b.s. going on, plus a great love for the game of golf. Like any beautiful scenery, it is hard to get the beauty captured on camera, but you'll certainly get a feel for what it's like in the hills of Joondalup Golf Resort.

  1. Hi Guys !
So glad that Bob was able to attend part of the Australian Open. Christian will be ever so jealous when he sees the pics of the Joondalup course !
