We've been staying at this wonderful historic Estancia located about 15 miles from Salta. It's called Estancia San Agustin. We've both been doing a lot of reading, relaxing and enjoying the pleasures of an Estancia. Our main activities are eating the delicious gourmet food, drinking the best Malbecs from Cafayate vineyards, listening to the donkey braying, the horses neighing, the song birds singing, the woodpecker pecking, reading books on the Kindle, relaxing in the hammock, enjoying the mountain views, walking around the grounds, and learning all about the Estancia from our hosts Carlos and La Negra. La Negra grew up on this Estancia. The food is fantastic, our hosts are wonderful and we are being spoiled rotten again! We love it. Bob has had two days of horseback riding as well.

| Our beautiful room with gorgeous old textiles on the bed, floor and walls. |
| This is where we "hang out" with nature. |
| Carlos at the asado. We had chorizo and steak. Both were grilled to perfection and melted in your mouth. Grilling here is an art form. Special wood is used. |
| What dessert would you like? My favorite is the dulce de leche. Muy rico! |
| This beautiful woodpecker spent an hour making holes. When I went close to see, I noticed hundreds of holes all over the tree. Isn't she gorgeous? |
| The tree had several of these bird condos in it. Made of clay and leaves. |
| The chapel on the Estancia grounds. La Negra and Carlos got married here as did their daughter. |
| They think that this tree is about 400 years old! La Negra climbed this tree when she was little. |
Isn't this Estancia awesome?
Hi Mar, Another gorgeous location. Wish I was sitting on that veranda with you, having a wine (or tea) and reading! I'm still in Denver, and we are having a thaw (60's) before the next snow storm.
