Hi Mates!
We're in the state of WA for 3 weeks. WA has about 2 million people. Most of them live in Perth. It's a HUGE state with lots of desert. We're in a very gorgeous part; the coastal area, a bit north of Perth. The coastline is endless without many people. It's summer here and the heat has started. Until today, we haven't had to use the air. It's suppose to be around 36 degrees C here today... about 92 F. There's a nice breeze every day, especially in the evening. We love the clean ocean air. Mary's sinuses are so happy!
Perth is in the Southwest corner of Australia. Latitude 31 degrees 57 min south, longitude 115 degrees 51 min east. We're 4127km from Sydney.
Today we bought bicycles. WE couldn't find any rentals and we are keen to exercise. Since we usually walk everywhere and don't rent cars, we decided the extra expense was well worth it for the health of it! (We'll probably sell the bikes before we leave unless we can figure out a way to get them to New Zealand.) Plus, yesterday we walked from our condo to the beach and couldn't believe our eyes---- a seemingly endless bicycle path up and down the sand dunes as far as the eye could see. And... not a single person on it! We will be in bicycling heaven--- an amazing coastal area and endless beaches. Tomorrow we'll get up early and go riding.
We'll take loads of pictures tomorrow and put them on the next blog.
G' Day from Down Under,
Mary and Bob
Hi Mar and Bob,
ReplyDeleteWe're excited that you're biking! Take some pics of where you pedal. We're in Bachelor Gulch since Friday - A & B just left for home. We'll spend until tomorrow and then head back to Breck. Snowing and blowing here. Stay well.
