There are over 45 mountain biking tracks in/near Wanaka. They are marked beginner/cruiser, intermediate and advanced. Bob and I borrowed bikes from Julie and Peter and rode for over 2 hrs. the other day. Our route took us on many tracks: The Outlet Track by the mighty Clutha River from the Lake Wanaka Track to the new Lake Hawea Track with the swing bridge (we walked the bikes across as it does "swing" quite a bit). The uphill and downhill routes kept our legs pumping and our lungs working. Keeping our eyes on the trail was hard because the views were magnificent. We loved it!
