Blue Mountains National Park: Katoomba... Australia

Just hours from Sydney, overlooking the lush Jamison Valley, the Blue Mountains and the famous Three Sisters Rock formations have lured hikers/visitors for decades. The stepping-stone pathways and vertical staircases help a trekker negotiate some challenging, narrow, vertiginous pathways. The hike goes directly to the valley floor. So easy to go down... oh so difficult to come back up. This was a great heart-pounding hike---- breathtaking scenery and trials that took your breath away.

Our route to get there: a ferry ride to Sydney, a train ride to Blacktown, change trains and another train to Katoomba. It was about a three hour excursion, but as they say in the TV commercial...priceless!
