Reflecting on the Past Year…
leads to the New Year!

2014 was the Year of Living on Islands:
1.) New Zealand
2.) Rio Verde
3.) Copper Island (Kuparisaari in Finnish; Upper Michigan, our summer home is an island)
3.) Scotland
5.) Rio Verde: an oasis islanded by 3 million acres of Tonto National Forest, 27,000 acres of McDowell County Park and the Fort McDowell Indian Reservation, with the Verde River as another boundary. All this affords us the feeling of being "surrounded" like an island!
6.) Kauai
We ended last year in Kauai and this Happy New Year 2015 finds us still in Kauai.
On this 5th day of the New Year, we wish all of our blog readers a Happy and Healthy New Year. We ring in the new year on the blog with some photos of this beautiful place called The Garden Island.

And a few of the pictures show us following the advice of our moms. Our resolution this year is to remember what our mothers admonished us to do when we were kids:
"Go out side and play!"
We take this resolution seriously and have been outside playing.

Biking the Ke Ala Hele Makalae (The Path That Goes by the Coast).
We both saw sea turtles on this day!
Earthing on Hanalei Beach… our favorite beach for walking.
A new way to get those arms stretched.
Yoga with a view!
We didn't make this, but we met the gal who did. She and her friends loved playing outside on Christmas Day.

Another group of outdoor enthusiasts had fun making this awesome Christmas Tree on Dec. 25th.
One day while Bob was golfing, I went to my favorite secluded beach and hunted for heart-shaped items.
I found this precious coral heart.
Have a wonderful year,
Mary and Bob
P.S. Bob promises to "go outside and play" on all those days when the football playoffs are not on TV.

Beautiful photos of a magnificent island! Love the heart rock…
ReplyDeleteHappy 2015 to my wonderful friends.
Hi Mar & Bob, I'm loving your magnificent views and scenic beaches. We played this morning in some fresh snow. I thought of you when I skied the bumps. Now relaxing in front of the fire. That Yoga shot makes me smile! Keep having fun!
